Getting a new phone onto Pingtower used to mean finding an API key, copying it off a laptop, and pasting it into a text field before you could see a single alert. That’s a fine way to hand a script a credential. It’s a bad way to onboard a person.

This week we rebuilt how Pingtower handles accounts and teams from the ground up. Here’s what’s different.

Onboarding is now email and password — sign up or log in, and you’re in. No server address to track down, no key to paste, no laptop required. Whether you’re setting up Pingtower for the first time or handing your phone to a new hire, the whole flow is: type your email, pick a password, done.

One account, every team you’re on

If you work across more than one team or company, you no longer need separate logins to keep track of. Your Pingtower account can belong to several teams at once, and switching between them is a tap in the app — no signing out, no re-entering credentials. Log in once in the morning and move between every team’s alerts as you need to.

Invite your team in one step

Bringing a teammate onto a team is now a share-and-redeem flow: generate an invite, send it however you’d send a link, and they redeem it to join. Nobody has to hand-copy a secret key over Slack to get a new person seeing alerts.

See who’s in, and control what they can automate

Every team now has a real members list — see who has access, remove someone the moment they shouldn’t anymore. If you’re wiring up automation or a script that needs API access, you can issue a scoped key for that team and revoke it independently the moment it’s no longer needed, without touching anyone else’s access.

The alert feed you rely on, now on sturdier ground

The live alert feed, swipe-to-ack, swipe-to-resolve, and the log tail behind every alert are all still exactly where you left them — nothing about the day-to-day flow changes. What changed is underneath: your login and your team’s data access are now cleanly separated, so revoking a device or a key is instant and precise instead of an all-or-nothing reset. Your project list is also a cleaner, faster read now — team name and open alert count at a glance, with the log tail one tap away.

What’s on pause

A few management screens — integrations, automated actions, reports, usage and audit history, and push notifications — are stepping back for this release while we rebuild them on top of the new account and team model. They’re not gone, just temporarily out of the app while we bring them back properly rather than bolting them onto the old design. The core job — seeing an alert the second it fires and acting on it from your phone — hasn’t skipped a beat.
