Pricing
Free during preview. No credit card.
Pingtower is free while it's in preview, because right now we're learning how teams run it in production — that's worth more to us than revenue. Paid plans will come later: this is a service with real operational costs, and honest pricing is how it stays alive. What it will never be is a surprise on your card.
Plans
Three tiers — all of them $0 during preview.
Every new account starts on the free tier, and its limits
are real — the same numbers the server enforces, readable any time via
GET /v1/tenants/<tid>/plan alongside your live usage.
Outgrowing them already? Pro and Enterprise exist today; there's no
checkout, just an email — and during preview an upgrade costs exactly
nothing.

Or pay nobody, ever: self-host
The server behind pingtower.com ships as a single signed Go binary. On your own box there's no account with us, no plan, and no quota — the limits are whatever your hardware says — and your logs stay on your hardware. That's deliberate: hosted Pingtower has to earn its keep by being convenient, not by locking you in. If pricing ever stops feeling fair, you can walk to your own box and keep alerting.
One quota rule holds on every tier: hitting a cap never silences your pager. Past the log cap the tower stops retaining rows, but every event is still evaluated and alerting continues — a quota can cost you history, never an alert.
When pricing arrives
You'll hear it from me — not from an invoice.
A promise from the founder, in writing: Pingtower will have paid plans one day, because a pager you depend on shouldn't depend on ad money or a growth story. Here's exactly how that transition will work.
- You'll be notified well before anything costs anything — by email and on this page
- Pricing will be generous: set to cover operating costs and development, not to maximize
- Early users — everyone who signs up during preview — will receive founder pricing
- No card is on file, so nothing can ever be charged silently
The terms say the same thing in legal words: nothing is charged before pricing is communicated to you.
