The tower is live, hosted at pingtower.com or self-hosted as a single binary on PostgreSQL or SQLite. Hosted, browser and API checks, status pages and incidents, the web app and a connector for AI assistants are live too, the iOS app is in public beta on TestFlight, open to everyone, and the Android and Mac betas are direct downloads. Next up: the App Store and Google Play releases, then Windows.

Shipped August 2026: ingest, shape-based deduplication, rules, escalation ladders, on-call rotations, and delivery to Slack, Telegram, and signed webhooks — hosted at api.pingtower.com with open signups, or self-hosted as one signed Go binary.

Addons — the probe agent
Scheduled checks — HTTP, TCP, DNS, certificate expiry, ping, host metrics, pending security updates, and friends — run by a signed agent on any box beyond your infrastructure, reporting through the same ingest plane your logs use. Multi-step API, gRPC, WebSocket, UDP, mail-server and domain-expiry checks join them in the next release. Run one today.

Host sensors — inside-the-box monitoring
Shipped in addons 0.2.0: the same agent, watching the box it runs on — continuously, at the kernel, not on a schedule. Firewall ruleset changes, every inbound connection attempt through a pass-only eBPF program, SSH and sudo auth activity, file integrity, undeclared listening ports, systemd service state, and kernel stall pressure — plus host-metrics and pending-security-updates checks. All privacy-first: contents, usernames, and exact addresses never leave the box. The details.

PostgreSQL
Shipped September 2026: point a self-hosted tower at PostgreSQL and each tenant gets its own schema. SQLite is still supported for a box with nothing to set up. The install guide.

Hosted checks
Pingtower checks your website, certificate, domain, server and ports from its own servers in multiple regions of the world: HTTP, TLS, DNS, ping, TCP, gRPC health, WebSocket and domain expiry. When one region sees a failure the others re-check at once, by default most must agree before it pages, and we add regions as demand grows. Nothing to install and no box of your own. Add a check in the app or on the web and it feeds the same rules and ladders as everything else.

Browser and API checks
Shipped October 2026: write a Playwright test and Pingtower runs it in headless Chromium, each run in its own gVisor sandbox, with step timings, Core Web Vitals, and a screenshot, video and trace when it fails. Multi-step API checks chain up to ten requests, carrying a token from one response into the next, with assertions and sign-in at every step.

Status pages and incidents
Shipped October 2026: status pages at
your-name.ptwr.netor on your own domain, public or members-only, with 90 days of uptime, incident history, scheduled maintenance, badges and an embeddable banner. Behind them, numbered incidents with a lead, a timeline that keeps internal notes apart from public updates, a cause and a fix on resolve, and GitHub or GitLab issues that open with them and hear the cause and fix. Teams, logs and secrets
Shipped October 2026: responder and viewer roles, up to 20 custom roles, and per-project access. A query language over every stored line, with counts, a chart over time and saved searches. A warning when a line looks like it carries a secret, and a way to redact an exact value everywhere. Plus Discord, maintenance windows, rule mutes and heartbeat URLs that know a cron schedule.

AI assistants (MCP)
Shipped September 2026: connect Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client to a hosted team and ask what is firing, whether it has fired before, and who is on call. One team per connection, with the permissions you approve — raw log lines stay off unless you tick them — and a Disconnect button for every connection. If an owner allows it, an assistant can also acknowledge and resolve alerts, mute a rule or schedule maintenance within the next 24 hours, create or edit checks, and suggest, annotate and draft the resolution of incidents. In your hands today: the beta is open to everyone on TestFlight — critical alerts that sound through Silent mode, one swipe to ack. Next stop is the App Store proper; when it lands, the download link goes up on the app page.

In your hands today: download the menu-bar app from this site, notarized by Apple. Alerts on the machine you're already staring at, for the hours you're at a desk instead of reaching for a phone: pages arrive as desktop notifications, click one to open the alert, or acknowledge it from the banner. macOS 14 or later.

Pick a check and Pingtower runs it from its own servers in multiple regions of the world. There's nothing to provision, patch or keep alive, and a failing check pages the same people your rules already name.
